Autor: mses
VUKOVAR, May 8 (Hina) - This year's programme for the campaign "Living Life Free of Violence", conducted by the Croatian Ministry of Interior and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Croatia, was formally launched in the eastern town of Vukovar on Monday evening.

The goal of this campaign, which began in 2010, is to bring awareness to the public on the issue of violence and to encourage citizens, especially victims, to report domestic violence. "Living Life Free of Violence" targets the students of primary and secondary schools, teachers, parents and the whole community.

During the war, Vukovar was a victim of the indescribable violence, said the UNDP Resident Representative in Croatia, Louisa Vinton, at the presentation of this year's activities within the "Living Life Free of Violence" drive.

According to police statistics, in Croatia some 45 cases of domestic violence are reported daily, with this number rising to 60 during holidays. Women are the most frequent victims of domestic violence, accounting for from 70% to 83% of victims of this type of violence, and women are violence perpetrator in 3% to 12% cases.

This year, campaign will be held in Rijeka, Pula, Sibenik, Cakovec, Osijek and Split.
