The bill represents the further ecological degradation of Croatia, biologist Ivana Rajcic said at a press conference organised by the party.
She objected to the fact that decisions on what to incinerate would be made and incineration permits issued by the minister in charge without the participation of the local community, saying this would make room for corruption.
"One man can't decide about the living conditions in a community without its participation," said Rajcic.
She said the bill also enabled the import of hazardous waste from the European Union or even rest of the world countries, adding that it envisaged storing hazardous waste in pits, even in the sea or lakes, which she said was unacceptable.
