BRIJUNI, Nov 26 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign and Deputy Prime Minister Mate
Granic participated in an annual meeting on the island of Vanga on
Friday between President Franjo Tudjman and foreign diplomats accredited
in Zagreb.
Answering the journalists'question if the Croatian delegation takes
different or new attitudes on the resolution of the crisis in the former
Yugoslavia, especially in Croatia, for the forthcoming talks in Geneva
scheduled for Monday, Minister Granic said: "Everybody knows very well
our fundamental attitudes." Talking about the peace initiative of Mr
Kinkel and Mr Juppe, Granic said that at the beginning they talked only
about the resolution of the crisis in B-H, but afterwards they also
considered the peaceful reintegration of UNPA's into the Croatian legal
system.
"We have firm guarantees from Germany, USA and many other European
countries in the view of the territorial integrity of Croatia and in the
view of linking the sanctions with Serbia's relations towards Croatian
territories which have been under the UNPROFOR control.
However, many details remained undiscussed: the regime of sanctions,
duration of temporary suspension, control of the borders, return of
refugees and disarmament," said Granic.
