GENEVA, Nov 23 (Hina) - At a regular annual meeting of the
Council of the International Organization for Migrations (IOM),
the Republic of Croatia was admitted to full membership of this
organization on Tuesday.
Besides Croatia, Japan was admitted to full membership, while
Iran was granted an observer status.
The Croatian Ambassador to the United Nations Office in Geneva,
Miomir Zuzul, told the meeting that Croatia was one of the
leading countries regarding the population dispersion. Of eight
million Croats, three million are dispersed round the world.
Ambassador Zuzul also recalled the exodus of several hundred
thousand Croats because of Serbian aggression.
