RESCHEDULING
WASHINGTON, Dec 16 (Hina) - The Croatian National Bank Governor
Pero Jurkovic and Finance Minister Bozo Prka on Thursday met for
talks the International Monetary Fund director Michael Camdessus
and his associates in Washington.
Camdessus expressed willingness to support Croatia at the
forthcoming talks with the Parish Club aimed at agreeing on more
favourable terms for Croatia's debt rescheduling in the light of
finding fresh funds for Croatia's reconstruction and development,
the Croatian representatives said.
Croatia's total debt to the Parish Club amounts to US 1,035
billion dollars. The capital sum of the debt is US 536 million
dollars, and all accrued interest US 56 million dollars.
It is expected that the most of the debt but around US 100
million dollars would be rescheduled.
Within the Parish Club talks on the debt rescheduling, the
Croatian Government and National Bank officials would soon visit
about ten countries that hold more than 80 p.c. of Croatia's debt.
