ZAGREB, Dec 16 (Hina) - Bosnia-Herzegovina's Prime Minister Haris
Silajdzic and Germany's Ambassador to the five-power Contact Group
for Bosnia Michael Steiner last night held a press conference in
Zagreb.
Prime Minister Silajdzic pointed out that the Bosnian side
accepted and backed the peace plan devised by the Contact Group.
"Our Parliament has decided to accept the plan, and we abide
by the decision," Bosnian Prime Minister told journalists adding
that this was made clear to the Contact Group.
The peace plan and Bosnian Serbs' persistence in rejecting it
were the major theme of the latest talks between Prime Minister
Silajdzic and the Contact Group's five ambassadors.
German Ambassador Steiner said they had arrived in Zagreb to
explain the views of the Contact Group member-countries ministers
expressed at the December 2 session in Brussels.
He added that the immediate cease-fire in Bihac was now
necessary, as well as the withdrawal of Bosnian and Croatia's rebel
Serb forces from there. After that, a comprehensive cease-fire
should ensue in the whole of Bosnia. As soon as all the parties
accepted the peace plan, suggested by the Contact Group last
summer, the political process could resume, according to Steiner.
Asked how Serbs had managed to get missiles for the anti-
aircraft systems, Silajdzic promptly replied that such a question
could be posed to one of the Contact Group member-countries.
Steiner added that there was no proof that these missiles had
been dispatched from abroad, but there was no proof for the
opposite statement as well.
