ZADAR, Dec 15 (Hina) - Zadar journalists today refused to attend a
press conference held by UN Sector South spokesman Alun Roberts
together with Knin reporters at a UN checkpoint near Zemunik.
When Roberts announced the joint conference last week the idea
was immediately dismissed by Zadar reporters, but nevertheless
Roberts resolved to go ahead with it.
Zadar journalists issued a statement saying that they "would
not meet reporters serving a military-police occupation regime,
people whose job all along had been to justify Serb crimes."
They said they would meet Knin reporters only when they
recognised that the occupied areas were part of Croatia.
