ZAGREB, Dec 8 (Hina) - Knin Serbs agreed to grant passage to Bihac-
bound UNHCR convoys on a regular basis, the UN in Zagreb said
today.
"The first Bihac-bound UNHCR convoy since Oct 1 set off today
from Zagreb. The next is scheduled for Saturday, and after that, if
all goes to plan, convoys should leave every three days," UN
spokesman Michael Williams said.
But the convoy that set out this morning was held up at
Moscenica because Knin Serbs said they needed 48 hours to secure
the convoy's safe passage.
A UN convoy with food and fuel for the Bangladeshi battalion
was also waiting at Moscenica.
If the matter was not cleared up by this afternoon, Yasushi
Akashi would mention it to Knin Serb leader Mikelic during talks in
Belgrade this afternoon, Williams said.
UNPROFOR was planning to send two more supply convoys for the
Bangladeshi troops tomorrow morning.
If these convoys duly reached the Bangladeshi battalion, the
relocation of a part of this battalion would be postponed, Williams
said.
