PALE, Dec 8, (Hina) - Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic and Serb
chiefs Nikola Koljevic, Momcilo Krajisnik and Aleksa Buha yesterday
held a press conference, which was covered by the Pale-based
Bosnian Serb television.
Commenting on the possibity of a confederation between
Yugoslavia and Bosnian Serbs, Krajisnik said a confederation 'was a
thing of the future', which 'could not change the map problem'. He
added that the maps were in need of some dire corrections - right
now.
Elaborating on Serb-UNPROFOR relations, Karadzic said:
"If we had guarantees that NATO would not attack Serb
positions and civilians any more, relations with UNPROFOR would
change quick smart and at UNPROFOR's satisifaction.
"If we come closer to peace, UNPROFOR's presence would be of
great help - but if America and the Moslems choose further war, it
would be better for UNPROFOR to leave."
Karadzic offerred full security in the withdrawl of UNPROFOR
troops through Serb territory but only under the condition that
they didn't leave any weapons behind for the Moslems.
The height of the press conference was when Karadzic said:
"The end of the Balkan crisis and the beginning of Balkan stability
will happen only when the right of Serbs to create one State is
recognised."
Karadzic also said he had nothing against breakaway Serb
leader Freaket Abdic, inserting his 'legitimate' authority to
control west Bosnian territory.
