HUNGARIAN PARLIAMENTARIANS VISIT DRAVA RIVER POWER PLANTS

CAKOVEC, Dec 2 (Hina) - Hungarian parliamentarians representing an environmental protection committee, today visited several hydroelectric power plants on the Drava River and met a Croatian Parliament delegation. The Hungarians were interested in the standard of environmental protection in the Drava River power plants, ahead of the construction of a new 47-megawatts plant in Novo Virje. The Drava River is the border between Croatia and Hungary, which meant both countries had to approve new plants. Head of the Croatian delegation Goran Granic and his Hungarian counterpart Janos Nenczok agreed that both countries were interested in building more power plants on the Drava, particularly at Barc, Donji Miholjac and Osijek.
