BIG-POWER CONTACT GROUP TO MEET IN ZAGREB THIS WEEKEND

Autor:
ZAGREB, Nov 4 (Hina) - The international five-power Contact Group is to convene this weekend in Zagreb, Croatia's ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Miomir Zuzul, said today at a Zagreb press conference. Asked about the progress of talks between Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic and his Yugoslav counterpart Vladislav Jovanovic, Zuzul said: "The talks started in a generally good atmosphere. So far, only subjects and standpoints have been presented but not discussed." Asked to comment on statements by local Serb leaders after yesterday's talks at Knin, that "negotiators were as apart as ever and unwilling to accept the term occupied Croatian territories," Zuzul said the framework for these talks was based on international documents on the reintegration of occupied Croatian territories into Croatia's constitutional and administrative system. "Croatia would not agree to negotiations outside the set framework," Zuzul stressed. Asked whether the Contact Group would present a concrete plan after the meeting in Zagreb, Zuzul said the Contact Group was primarily dealing with the Bosnian crisis, which would be the main item on tomorrow's agenda. Zuzul added that a document by the Zagreb Four mini Contact Group for Croatia had not been finalized. (hina) mm vm 041746 MET nov 94
