ZAGREB, Dec 30 (Hina) - The emergency CSCE (Conference on Security
and Cooperation in Europe) session devoted to the Bihac situation
broke up again yesterday evening and was said to resume this
afternoon.
Croatian and Bosnian representatives were expected to hold a
news conference after the session, according to Croatian radio.
Croatian and Bosnian delegations discussed the "modalities of
realisation" of their demands with Contact Group representatives on
Tuesday and Wednesday, Croatian CSCE ambassador Darko Bekic said
last night.
These demands included the sending of a CSCE envoy to the
Bihac region to prepare a report that should serve as grounds for
the ministerial meeting's declaration for the CSCE summit to be
held on December 5.
Croatia and Bosnia also proposed that their foreign ministers
Granic and Ljubijankic meet their counterparts from the Contact
Group member states.
Another demand was that a CSCE commission be dispatched to the
Bihac region to investigate the human rights situation and the
position of the civilian population.
"These ideas were received with understanding and interest by
Contact Group members, but there were many technical and procedural
obstacles to their realisation," Bekic said.
He did not specify what these obstacles were.
"The Croatian and Bosnian delegations are trying to overcome
these obstacles," he said.
