ZAGREB, Nov 3, (Hina) - "The Government should analyse
privatisation," is the front page headline in today's VJESNIK on an
article on a recent session of the Presidential Council for Defence
and National Security.
The session concluded that 'Croatian authorities consistently
expound Croatia's view at today's talks in Knin (with local Serbs)
and at Friday's talks in Zagreb with the Yugoslav Foreign
Minister'.
The Council strongly protested over the death of a displaced
person at an UNPA area during a visit to a grave on All Saints' Day
and over the fact that the refugees were not supposed to visit
cemeteries in occupied areas.
VJESNIK also carries an article on evictions after yesterday's
working group session involving representatives from the
Government, Parliament, Court authorities and other associations.
Participants debated the legal, political and moral aspects of
evictions from flats in Croatia.
"In the game there are different arguments and great questions
on who is using which argument and who answers to' - was one of the
ideas cited in the article.
"Evictions Need Competent Courts", is a headline in the other
Zagreb daily, VECERNJI LIST, which also covers yesterday's eviction
working group session. The paper quotes Justice Minister Ivica
Crnic who said "only the courts should deal with evictions, because
the joint competence - currently at administrative and court levels
- complicates the situation".
The paper carries a comment piece on European institution
relations towards Croatia under the headline 'How Long will the
Naughty School Boy be Confined to the Bench'. The commentary asks
'can diplomats expect infinite patience from its good pupil, while
he's confined to this bench with the most wicked, who belong there
- at least until they learn the lesson of democracy?'
Bosnian Presidency member and vice president of the Bosniac-
Croat Federation, Ejup Ganic, in an interview with VECERNJI LIST
says: "In the greater part of the Federation, particularly where
there is resistance to Cetniks, the situation is quite good. People
have taken fate into their own hands."
