CONSTITUTIONAL COURT SUSPENDS EVICTION IN PULA

ZAGREB, Nov 2 (Hina) - The Croatian Constitutional Court today suspended an eviction from a former Yugoslav army (JNA) flat in Pula, until the Court reached a verdict on the tenant's plea of unconstitutionality. The plaintiff was granted tenancy with an option to buy by the JNA Pula Garrison command on Aug 9, 1991. The Administrative Court, where the plaintiff first took his case, took the view that the chit was null and void under a Government Decree of July 24, 1991, prohibiting the disposal of real estate in Croatia. The Constitutional Court also ordered that a public debate on government decrees limiting the old age pensions budget should take place not later than November 15. After hearing the Government's views on the issue, the Constitutional Court will decide whether there are grounds for examining the constitutionality of these decrees. (hina) jn as 021834 MET nov 94
