ZAGREB, Oct 5 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament's House of
Representatives today put two more items on the agenda - Slovene
territorial claims to Croatian territory and a report by the
Internal Policy and National Security Committee on the
administrative and legal aspects of apartment evictions.
Speaker Nedjeljko Mihanovic proposed that the second item be
called a report on the eviction of illegal tenants, which was
strongly opposed by Drazen Budisa and Vlado Gotovac of the Croatian
Social Liberal Party (HSLS), Savka Dabcevic-Kucar of the Croatian
National Party (HNS) and Elio Martincic of the Croatian Independent
Democrats (HND), who said that such a formulation would prejudice
the whole problem.
The House approved deputy speaker Vladimir Seks's proposals
that the agenda item be called a debate on the administrative and
legal aspects of apartment evictions, but that it be postponed
until the Government submitted documentation on the matter.
Milan Djukic of the Serb National Party (SNS) proposed that
apartment evictions be suspended until Parliament passed decisions
on the issue. He added that evictions were carried out on the basis
of administrative decisions and not court rulings.
