ZAGREB, Oct 14 (Hina) - Today's VJESNIK leads with a front page
article on yesterday's sessions of the Parliament House of Counties
and House of Representatives.
Answering deputies' question, Foreign Minister Granic
reiterated that Croatia would not accept anything imposed and it
opposed lifting of sanctions against Serbs.
"Wages: Who Gets Raise?", says the headline of an article on
pay raise in state companies.
Vjesnik writes that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is
to decide today on the Croatian request for approving the stand-by
arrangement, under the headline "Decision on Stand-By Arrangement
to be Made Today".
Today's VECERNJI LIST also carries a report from sessions of
both Parliament Houses.
The paper brings a commentary by Inoslav Besker who compares
Bill Clinton's quick responding to Saddam Hussein's threats with
U.S. irresoluteness in solving Bosnian crisis.
In an article on teacher strike 'for right to strike', Vesna
Kanizaj, head of the Secondary Schools Union, says that 90 percent
of teachers went to strike, but the City Secretariat of Education
says that no school went on strike yesterday morning.
Vecernji List carries an interview with Mirko Tankosic, a
parliamentary deputy of the Croatian National Party (HNS), on
rumors that he will replace Milan Djukic (leader of the Serbian
National Party) at the post of House of Representatives deputy
speaker.
