SARAJEVO, Oct 8, (Hina) - One person was killed and 15 people were
seriously injured today when Serbs fired at two trams near the
Holiday Inn in the heart of Sarajevo.
Today's tram attack was the first major incident since an
agreement was signed by Serbs and Moslems banning open fire attacks
at civilians.
Four of those wounded today are in critical condition with
doctors desperately trying to save their lives.
The attack happened at 12.30 pm today and it is believed that
fire came not only from Serb snipers but also machine guns.
The latest from UNPROFOR on the attack is that one person died
and six people were injured.
UNPROFOR spokesman Major Gourmelon said an investigation was
underway. He also said it was not known how or even if, blue
helmets tried to protect civilians.
