MOSTAR, Sep 8, (Hina Habena)- The first group of police recruited
from the European Union today arrived in Mostar, the ambassador of
the EU European Administration, Klaus Metscher, told a local news
conference.
The first police group has come from Germany and consists of
15 police officers. Next week, another group is expected to arrive
from France, and by the end of October there should some 200 police
officers from the EU in Mostar, Metscher said.
Metscher also informed journalists of yesterday's talks with
the Mayors of east and west Mostar on free movement between these
two parts of the city.
Agreed upon was: free passage between these areas from 7am to
7pm; that army vehicles be banned; and that trucks be inspected by
local police.
Mostar is being administrated by the EU for two years.
