ZAGREB, Aug 2 (Hina) - A group of deputies to the Chamber of
Representatives of the Croatian Parliament, whose constituencies
are partly or entirely occupied by rebel Serb forces, held a press
conference on Tuesday to present their parliamentary initiative
concerning the mandate of the UN Protection Force in Croatia.
Member of Parliament Drago Krpina recalled that 21 out of 60
constituencies were partly or entirely under Serb occupation. He
said that 12 deputies had attended yesterday's meeting and added he
was confident that others would join soon.
Krpina noted that the deputies, who had been elected mainly by
displaced persons, felt it necessary to try to articlualte their
political views concerning the UNPROFOR mandate and a political
platform towards the Serbs in the UN Protected Areas, before a
September session of the Chamber of Representatives.
