ZAGREB, July 15 (Hina) - Representatives of West Bosnia (of the
Cazin and Velika Kladusa province), controlled by the forces loyal
to the local potentate Fikret Abdic, said today that they
supported a peace plan, drawn up by the five-power "contact group",
for the conflict in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and stressed that they
expected a special status for the above mentioned area of western
Bosnia within the Bosniac-Croat Federation.
Owing to the special territorial and political position "we
request to gain the maximum level in the economic and political
freedom, which will not put in question the existence of the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, and the absolute freedom in
decisions on war and peace,' an aide to Mr. Abdic, Bozidar Sicel,
said at today's press conference in the Croatian capital of Zagreb.
Commenting on the clashes between forces loyal to Abdic and
the Bosnian army fifth corps Sicel claimed that there was no
possibility of the military defeat of Abdic's troops. He also said
that the escalation of the conflict in western Bosnia had occurred
at the end of last March.
