ZUBAK ANNOUNCES EXTENSION OF ONE-MONTH TRUCE IN BOSNIA

MOSTAR, July 8 (Hina) - After today's meeting with the U.N. Secretary-General's special envoy, Yasushi Akashi, in Mostar the President of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kresimir Zubak announced the one-month extension of the truce between the Federation of B-H and Bosnian Serbs, which had been signed on 8 June in Geneva. The vice president of the Federation of B-H, Ejup Ganic, Generals Ante Roso and Fikret Muslimovic as well as the aides to Akashi, General De Lapresle and Sergio Demmelo, participated in today's talks, held in eastern Mostar (under control of the army of Bosnia-Herzegovina). The negotiations will continue tomorrow. Zubak also said that Akashi, Ganic and he should sign a joint session tomorrow, which would underline the resoluteness of the U.N. Protection Force (UNPROFOR) to carry out its mandate in Bosnia-Herzegovina consistently. "We insisted on the reinforced control of borders with Serbia and with Montenegro, and on informing the world of how many troops and how much reinforcement in arms come from the territory of Serbia and Montenegro in Bosnia- Herzegovina," told Zubak.
