TEACHERS' TRADE UNIONS TO BREAK OFF TALKS WITH GOVERNMENT

Autor:
ZAGREB, July 7 (Hina) - Croatian trade unions of teachers of primary and secondary school as well as of kindergartens, will break off the social peace and conducting of negotiations with the Government since it has not yet responded to the three disputable issues that were sent to the government by the trade unions one month ago. This was said at today's press conference of the three trade unions of teachers. The trade unions disapproved of some provisions of the law on the budget according to which certain rights from the General Collective Agreement had been reduced for the employees. The unions demanded form the Government to express its view on the rates of wages and the acceptance of the rule that the rights, guaranteed by the collective agreements, could be provided only for the members of the unions. The trade unions of teachers will soon hold a meting to agree on protest activities owing to such an attitude of the Government, this was also said at today's conference in Zagreb. 081818 MET jul 94
