ZAGREB, July 8 (Hina) - Special envoy of the U.N. secretary-general
Yasushi Akashi left Zagreb today for Bosnia-Herzegovina in order to
talk to leaders of the Bosnian Serbs and Moslems about an extension
of the ceasefire agreement which expires tomorrow, said an UNPROFOR
representative in Zagreb.
According to the plan, Akashi was scheduled to meet with
deputy president of the Federation and member of the Bosnian
presidency Ejup Ganic at 11:00 hours, and at 13:00 hours with
leader of the Bosnian Serbs Radovan Karadzic at Pale, said the
source.
Akashi should return to Zagreb this evening, but if an
agreement on the extension of ceasefire is not reached today he may
spend the night in Sarajevo in order to resume talks tomorrow.
