OSIJEK, July 1 (Hina) - The Union of Refugees from Osijek County
and the Association of Families of Missing Persons and Detainees
staged a protest at UN check points near Nemetin and on the Bilje
road (UNPA East) at 8 a.m. on Friday.
More than 200 protesters set up roadblocks, obstructing the
movement of all vehicles of UNPROFOR, UNHCR and other international
organizations. They demanded that UNPROFOR implement all UN
resolutions and prevent its personnel from smuggling fuel and goods
from the free parts of Croatia into Croatian territories under Serb
occupation.
Mothers of missing and detained persons covered the roads with
candles, flowers and pictures of their loved ones in a bid to draw
public attention to their plight.
