ZADAR, May 4 (Hina) - The UNPROFOR command in Sector South said
Wednesday in a statement that clearing the roads of mines in Sector
South continued. The statement added that 165 km of the roads had
been cleared of mines so far, and that at least 200 km more of the
roads should be cleared so that UNPROFOR soldiers could patrol the
Sector.
The UNPROFOR command reported that several Serb soldiers were
spotted in Kakma, Cardak, Petri and Stabanj, and that they refused
to leave the area because "Serb inhabitants there are concerned
about their safety". The statement further said Croatian and Serb
soldiers were spotted within the area of disengagement in Sector
South. Serb soldiers were present at 9 locations, while Croatian
soldiers were present at 4 locations within the area of
disengagement.
