ZAGREB, May 2 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on Monday
replied to a letter by his Bosnian counterpart Alija Izetbegovic of
April 30.
"I have received your letter in which you confirm your
interest in a prompt and overall implementation of the Washington
agreement.
"I think that it can be said that Bosnian-Croatian relations
improved after this agreement was signed and that on the whole we
can be satisfied with initial results. However, I agree with you
that everything must be done with a view to fully implementing the
agreement as soon as possible and that those frustrating this
positive process should be prevented on both sides.
"I firmly believe that all the issues you have mentioned can
and should be solved to our mutual satisfaction. I should like to
emphasize once again that you can count on my full cooperation as I
will use all my influence that the Washington accords are fully
implemented as soon as possible.
"I am confident that my visit to Sarajevo, for which I am
ready as soon as technical details and traffic conditions allow,
will contribute to the faster resolution of all open issues and to
the further development of mutual understanding and cooperation
between the Croatian and Bosniac-Moslem nations, as well as between
the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia,"
the letter said.
