ZAGREB, Apr 15 (Hina) - At least eight UNHCR international staff
members are under house arrest in Serb-controlled parts of Bosnia-
Herzegovina, UNHCR spokesman Peter Kessler told reporters on
Friday.
"Our staff in Pale have been told to stay in their office, and
a similar ban has been imposed on UNHCR officials in Banja Luka for
several days," said Kessler. He went on to say that the Serb
authorities had told the UNHCR staff that they could no longer
guarantee their security. UNHCR keeps in touch with its staff
through the usual telephone and radio channels, said Kessler. He
stressed that the restriction of movement in Banja Luka and Pale
applied only to UNHCR officials.
