VITEZ, Apr 2 (Hina) - Representatives of civilian authorities of
the areas of Zenica and the Lasva valley (Central Bosnia) held a
first meeting today at the British UNPROFOR battalion's camp in the
town of Vitez (the Lasva valley), reported a Hina correspondent on
Saturday afternoon. The delegation of the Lasva area was led by
Ante Valenta, the coordinator of the Herzeg-Bosnia's government for
Central Bosnia, while the Moslem-Bosniac representatives were the
heads of the municipalities of Zenica and Travnik. The chairman of
today's meeting was the UNPROFOR chief for civilians affairs for
Central Bosnia, Jay Carter.
The agenda of the meeting included key issues of
infrastructure such as power network, telecommunications and roads
and water supplies in that part of Central Bosnia, according to the
same source. Committees in charge of tackling the issues were
established at the meeting in Vitez.
UNPROFOR and UNHCR are expected to offer expert assistance
and material aid in solving the problems of the infrastructure in
that region of Central Bosnia.
