ZAGREB, Jan 5 (Hina) - US ambassador to the United Nations
Madeleine Albright told a press conference at Zagreb airport on
Wednesday that the aggression and conflict in former Yugoslavia
were not justified. Speaking of the delivery of relief aid, she
said that "promises that have been made ought to be fulfilled."
Asked about "Croatia's military involvement in Bosnia-
Herzegovina," Ambassador Albright said: "We have repeatedly warned
the Croatian government and military about these actions," adding
that sanctions might be imposed on Croatia if no changes were made
in this respect. Ambassador Albright announced that she was going
to discuss the issue with President Tudjman on Thursday afternoon.
After a visit to the US MASH at Pleso, Ambassador Albright
said she intended to visit Vukovar. "It is very important that I
should be granted access to Vukovar to see the mass graves there,"
Albright said.
