SARAJEVO, May 22 (Hina) - Bosnian Prime Minister Haris Silajdzic
said today he was confident that Serbia would soon recognize
Bosnia-Herzegovina as an independent state.
"(Serbian President) Milosevic will certainly recognize
Bosnia-Herzegovina soon because it's the only way to achieve
peace," Silajdzic said in a statement carried by Sarajevo
television.
He said that an announcement of the unification of Bosnian
Serbs and their ethnic kin in the occupied areas of Croatia had
no practical significance and was yet another attempt to
manipulate with the Serb people in Bosnia.
Silajdzic went on to say that two illegal entities such as
the self-styled Serb states in Bosnia and Croatia were now trying
to "patch up the holes" in the project aimed at creating a
greater Serbia. He said that these attempts were futile.
He called on the Bosnian Serbs to give up such attempts and
join the project of creating a joint state of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
