ARMED INCIDENTS INCREASE IN SARAJEVO

SARAJEVO, May 15 (Hina) - A score of 1,300 armed incidents was recorded in Sarajevo area in the past 24 hours, while around 20 detonations had blasted at the airport zone only, UN Protection Force said. UN source said the Bosnian army and Bosnian Serb forces last night exchanged four mortar shells each, inside the so-called "exclusion zone" around the city. A UN observation post at the airport was fired at from heavy machine-gun. The city has been getting only a minimum gas supply after Serbs had turned off the gas-pipe valves in Zvornik, north-east Bosnia. The local authorities said the gas would be delivered to consumers every third day, but the city bakery warned it wouldn't be able to resume its work. The flour stocks almost ran out, as well as petrol needed for transportation of the bread to stores. All Sarajevo schools are still closed, because of the security deterioration.
