ZAGREB, May 11 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian Parliament
delegation to the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly, Zarko
Domljan, today forwarded a letter to Assembly chairman Miguel Angel
Martinez and other senior officials, and to the chairman of the
Assembly of the West European Union, Sir Dudley Smith, in
connection with different interpretations of the recent events in
western Slavonia and groundless accusations at Croatia's expense.
Domljan explained the latest situation regarding the re-
establishment of the Croatian legal system in western Slavonia
following a successful limited action by Croatian police in the
hitherto occupied area, a statement from Domljan's cabinet said.
The Croatian government had given assurances that all civil
and minority rights would be protected, which had a positive effect
on defusing the situation, Domljan wrote.
The head of the Croatian Parliament delegation to the
Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and
Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Bozidar Petrac, sent a letter of
similar content to Assembly chairman Frank Swaelen and members of
the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Office.
