THE HAGUE, May 10 (Hina) - The International Criminal Tribunal for
the former Yugoslavia is expected to announce tomorrow its decision
on possible proceedings against Bosnian Croat war crimes suspects.
Tribunal spokesman Christian Chartier said in a statement Hina
received today that the Court had yesterday discussed a request by
the chief prosecutor, Justice Richard Goldstone, to initiate
proceedings against persons suspected of having committed war
crimes in the Lasva River Valley of Central Bosnia during 1992 and
1993.
Chartier said that in November 1994 and April 1995 the
Prosecutor had handed down indictments against perpetrators of war
crimes in Serb-run concentration camps in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The Prosecutor's policy is "to have investigations covering
the entire course of of events occurred in the former Yugoslavia"
and to look into "the conduct of all the parties involved in the
conflict."
