ZAGREB, April 14 (Hina) - The latest Serb missile and artillery
attacks on the Karlovac and Dubrovnik areas indicated that rebel
Serbs still opposed any peaceful settlement in Croatia, Croatian
Defence Ministry Policy Department director Ivan Tolj told
Croatian television last night.
The attacks were launched at the time when the international
community and Croatia intensified efforts to peacefully
reintegrate occupied territories, he said.
"Both cases represent a drastic risk to peace options," Tolj
said and added that the most unfortunate thing was that a
civilian had been killed and three persons had been wounded in
the Dubrovnik attack.
"If the Croatian army is ordered to strike back, the enemy
should be aware that it will be a tremendous blow," Tolj
stressed.
