ZENICA, April 1 (Hina/HABENA) - The ombudsmen of the Federation of
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Zoran Jovanovic, Esad Muhibic and Branka Raguz,
officially opened their Regional Office in Zenica, central Bosnia,
last night, and interviewed candidates for the post of the deputy
ombudsman.
The ombudsmen are to appoint their deputy after consultations
with the Bosnian Federation President.
The ceremonial opening of the Regional Office was attended by
Zenica authorities, local prominent politicians, lawyers, cultural
workers and European monitoring mission officials, the HABENA
Herzeg-Bosnian news agency said on Saturday.
In the Sarajevo office the ombudsmen received about a thousand
people and registered 146 cases of possible violations of human
rights between January 3 to March 24, 1995.
The ombudsmen are to prepare the opening of their regional
office in Herzegovina, too.
