MOSTAR, March 31 (Hina) - Croats and Moslems yesterday signed an
agreement on the first stage of the establishment of a joint police
force, EU Adminsitrator Hans Koschnik told reporters today.
The joint headquarters will include EU police officers and one
officer from each part of Mostar.
Koschnik said policemen from both parts of Mostar would
probably be sent to Belgium, Switzerland or the United States to
familiarise themselves with police work in multiethnic countries.
Referring to a recent artillery attack on Mostar, in which one
person was killed and several were wounded, Koschnik said he had
written about it to UN Special Representative, Yasushi Akashi.
"Even if the establishment of the Bosnian Federation goes
wrong, the European Administration will nevertheless stay in
Mostar," Koschnik said.
