ZAGREB, March 28 (Hina) - Parliament Bench leaders met this morning
to draft a Declaration on the new UNPROFOR mandate.
The Declaration, which is to deal with the UN Secretary-
General's report, a draft UNSC Resolution on the new UN mandate in
Croatia, and Minister Granic's report to Parliament, is to be
passed this afternoon without a debate.
According to Foreign Minister Mate Granic, this morning's
meeting agreed on most of the draft Declaration.
But some issues were to be discussed at a further meeting
this afternoon, when the Declaration would actually be written.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives is to tackle one
remaining item on the agenda - a motion of no confidence in Culture
Minister Zlatko Vitez.
Deputy Speaker Vladimir Seks was hopeful that the matter
could be settled with Minister Vitez "apologising to the
Parliament" (for airing some unsavoury views on the nature of
Parliament). In that case, the motion would be dropped.
The House also dropped a Bill of Amendments to the Rights
of Deputies Act. The Bill will be discussed at the next
session, pending the opinion of the constitution and standing
orders commission on its constitutionality.
