ZAGREB, March 13 (Hina) - Today's VJESNIK and VECERNJI LIST lead
with reports on a meeting in Copenhagen between Croatian President
Franjo Tudjman and US Vice President Al Gore, and on an agreement
in principle on a new mandate for the UN peacekeeping force in
Croatia.
Both papers carry a speech by President Tudjman at the
Copenhagen social summit and include the extensive coverage of
talks Tudjman had there. They also report on first international
responses to the news on the peacekeeping force in Croatia.
The two papers carry front-page articles on a visit to Croatia
by Indonesia's President Suharto.
Vjesnik publishes an interview with Dunja Pastizzi-Ferencic,
deputy executive secretary of the UN economic commission for Europe
(ECOSOC), under the headline "Croatia Is Not Sufficently
Represented in the UN System."
Vecernji List brings an interview with Zarko Domljan, speaker
of the Croatian Parliament House of Representatives, under the
headline "We're Delivering Democratic Credentials."
