MOSTAR, March 11 (Hina) - The EU Administrator of Mostar, Hans
Koschnik, today ceremonially opened a reconstructed war-damaged
primary school in western Mostar.
The school, attended by 1,500 pupils, is the biggest
elementary school in the southern Bosnian city.
The costs of the repair works amounted to around 1 800,000
German marks. The EU Administration provided most funds for
covering the reconstruction costs, and the German "Cap Anamur"
humanitarian agency also financed the repair works.
"I would like that this school would assume the role of a
bridge, which should link Mostar citizens," Koschnik said at the
ceremony.
The western Mostar mayor, Mijo Brajkovic, and the school's
headmaster, Davor Skender, thanked the EU Administration,
especially Hans Koschnik, for the reconstruction of the building.
