ZAGREB, March 1 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian government Office
for Refugees and Displaced Persons, Adalbert Rebic, yesterday met a
European Union of Christian Democratics (EUCD) delegation for talks
on 400,000 refugees and displaced persons Croatia was caring for, a
government statement said today.
The EUCD delegation was interested in Croatia's accommodation
capacities, expenses and humanitarian aid for refugees, and the
possibilities of returning refugees from foreign countries to
Croatia and their integration in Croatia, if it were impossible for
them to return to their homes.
Rebic said that in that event Croatia would have to build
100,000 houses and apartments, create new jobs and ensure funds for
those unable to find work, which would all be additional strain on
the Croatian state.
