NOVSKA, Feb 9 (Hina) - Serbs from the occupied areas would respect
all agreements so far reached on the reopening of the Zagreb-
Lipovac highway and oil pipeline under the December 2 Economic
Agreement, but they stopped implementing all other agreements and
activities that had begun in line with the Agreement, a spokeswoman
for UNPROFOR in UNPA West, Susan Manuel, today said.
This meant that preparations for the reopening of the railway
line section through UNPA West and for the reopening of the water
supply system for Pakrac would not be carried out for the time
being.
At the press conference in the Jordanian UN base, which had
been attended by journalists from the occupied towns of Okucani
(UNPA West), and Banja Luka (northwest Bosnia) for the first time,
Susan Manuel said she had been informed of these decisions at her
meeting with local Serb in Okucani this morning.
The Serbs rejected a request of the displaced persons to visit
their homes in the occupied areas, as the Serbs from UNPA West had
already been allowed to visit Novska and Nova Gradiska, Manuel
said.
