ZAGREB, Feb 2 (Hina) - The involvement of rebel Croatian Serbs in
attacks on the Moslem-held Bihac pocket of northwestern Bosnia had
increased in the past few weeks and Serb authorities in Knin were
largely responsible for continued clashes there, UN spokesman
Michael Williams said in Zagreb today.
Williams added that this was in direct violation of UN
Security Council resolutions.
UN military observers reported that rebel Croatian Serbs were
building up troops, tanks and heavy artillery in the area of Velika
Kladusa, UN spokesman Paul Risley said.
From their strongholds in Croatia, Serb forces carried out an
artillery attack on Buzim in the northeastern part of the Bihac on
Tuesday and Wednesday, Risley said. One of the five shells fired at
the town hit the local hospital, damaging the roof but causing no
casualties.
