INDONESIAN PRESIDENT MEETS CROATIAN PRIME MINISTER

JAKARTA, Jan 15 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Nikica Valentic on Sunday handed a letter of Croatian President Tudjman to Indonesian President Suharto, which underlined the necessity of promoting the political and economic cooperation between the two countries. Valentic conveyed an invitation to the Indonesian President to visit Croatia. A Croatian government delegation, led by Valentic, this morning arrived in Indonesia to pay a two-day visit after its tour to China and Hong Kong. At today's meeting President Suharto and Prime Minister Valentic described Indonesian-Croatian relations as good and friendly. President Suharto showed interest in and understanding of Croatia's peaceful policies. Valentic informed his host in detail of this matter. The talks were to continue on Monday. The Croatian delegation were expected to visit the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce tomorrow. President Tudjman's advisor in economic issues, Franjo Greguric, and Ministers Vidosevic and Mudrinic would held separate talks with Indonesian ministers on the economic cooperation. The Croatian officials today visited several Indonesian cultural institutions. President Suharto held dinner for the Croatian Prime Minister and delegation. After the visit to Indonesia Prime Minister Valentic was scheduled to pay a short visit to Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur on Monday evening to talk with Prime Minister Mohatir.
