ZAGREB, Jan 31 (Hina) - The President's Chief-of-Staff, Hrvoje
Sarinic, and the President's Special Envoy, Ambassador Miomir Zuzul
today met the Zagreb-four officials after they returned from Knin.
The Z-4 officials tried to serve their peace plan on Knin
leaders Martic, Mikelic and Babic, but they flatly refused to even
look at it.
The international mediators' intended trip to Belgrade was
also cancelled because Serbian President Milosevic refused in
advance to receive them.
These developments created a new situation prompting the
mediators to seek a way out of the situation, the statement
explained.
Sarinic reiterated Croatia's views on the peaceful
reintegration of Croatia's occupied areas.
The recent developments have shown that the key to the
resolution of the whole problem is in Belgrade and the
international community should direct its efforts and pressure
there.
Also present at the talks was aide to the Chief-of-Staff,
Vesna Skare-Ozbolt.
