ZAGREB, Jan 27 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister, Mate Granic,
today told national radio that the peace plan by the Z-4 group
would be presented to President Franjo Tudjman Monday morning.
Granic said the framework of the plan, according to the
working version, was positive because it respected the territorial
integrity of Croatia, and local autonomy was reserved for only
eleven municipalities where Serbs were the majority population
before the aggression on Croatia.
He added that part of the plan which defined the extent of
Serb local autonomy was unacceptable, along with some mechanisms of
international supervision.
The Government will pronounce its final judgment on the plan
when it gets a copy and studies it.
He expressed the willingness of Croatia to discuss a final
political solution, emphasising that talks would be based on the
Constitution, the Constitutional Minority Rights Act and the peace
initiative of Croatian President Franjo Tudjman.
