ZAGREB, Jan 6 (Hina) - Some of the UN peacekeepers deplyoyed in
Croatia could be transferred to Bosnia-Herzegovina if their
countries provide replacements, UN spokesman Paul Risley told
reporters in Zagreb today.
The United Nations Thursday asked its members to contribute
another 6,500 'blue helmets' in Bosnia to oversee the cease-fire
agreement signed December 31.
UNPROFOR has some 38,500 soldiers deployed in the former
Yugoslavia compared to 45,000 recommended by the Security Council.
This was why it was unnecessary for the Security Council to adopt a
new resolution on the additional 6,500 soldiers.
