ZAGREB, Dec 10 (Hina) - Fourteen organizations for the protection and promotion of human rights which work in Croatia on Tuesday presented themselves at a meeting organized by Amnesty International in Croatia, the Centre for the
Promotion of Human Rights - Magna Carta and the Croatian European Movement.

Speaking about the work of their organizations were
representatives of associations of missing and detained Croatian
citizens and soldiers "Vukovarske majke" and "Hrvatski Feniks",
Croatian Helsinki Committee, Croatian Legal Centre, ON Office for
Human Rights in Croatia, Croatian Amnesty International, Direct
Human Rights Protection Group, Civilian Human Rights committee,
Human Rights Committee, Women Victims of War Centre, Jesuits
refugee agency, Croatian Movement for Family and Life human rights
promotion centre Magna Carta and the Zagreb Students' Associations
Coordination.
Presenting the work of every organization, their
representatives warned about the meaning of human rights in a
democratic society and about the importance of cooperation among
organizations which care for them.
Representatives of the Mothers of Vukovar and Croatian Phoenix
warned that this was the sixth year that they knew nothing about
their children "although they have knocked on every possible door".
An OSCE envoy was also present at the meeting.
