ZAGREB, Nov 20 (Hina) - The largest number of complaints about
human rights violations in Croatia come from the newly-liberated
areas and they are related to citizenship, looting and harassment,
UN human rights rapporteur Elisabeth Rehn said in Zagreb on
Wednesday.
I am still rather concerned about the situation in former UN
Sectors South and North, where most of the complaints have come
from, Rehn told reporters after meeting Croatian ombudsman Ante
Klaric.
Rehn said she handed over the complaints to Klaric for further
processing, noting that in her report to the UN she had emphasized
excellent cooperation with Croatian authorities and institutions.
On Thursday Rehn was scheduled to meet Deputy Prime Minister
Ljerka Mintas-Hodak and Justice Minister Miroslav Separovic.
