SPLIT, Dec 10 (Hina) - Croatian export into Canada was lagging
behind its true potentials and needs of that big market, said
representatives of Split county export companies and the Canadian
Office for Promoting Trade, at a meeting which took place in Split
on Tuesday.
Present at the talks was also Canadian Ambassador to Croatia,
Graham Green. #L#
Croatian export into Canada reached USD 4 million in the first
six months this year, and import into Croatia exceeded USD 7
million.
The talks focused on investigating possibilities for leveling
these relations.
Most significance was given to tourism, the production of milk
and cheese, establishment of joint companies, investment in
production plants in free harbour zones and export of Croatian
textile and wood industry.
Ambassador Green said that the Canadian market was open for
all exporters, which could be exploited by Croatia, being a stable
country with a well-recovering economy.
Croatian assistant Economy Minister Ivan Skoro supported
endeavors of exporters and pledged that such plans would receive
the most support from the state.
