CROATIAN FOREIGN MINISTER PRESENTS DIPLOMATIC MANUAL

ZAGREB, Dec 9 (Hina) - In a very short period Croatia managed to educate a generation of diplomats according to European standards, Foreign Minister Mate Granic said in Zagreb on Monday presenting a book called "A Diplomatic Manual". The book was written by British author Ralph George Feltham, and Granic wrote a foreword to the Croatian edition. Granic said that diplomatic education in Croatia began in 1992 with short courses and that it had developed to the level of a diplomatic academy. He added that the Foreign Ministry's Diplomatic Academy was being attended by a second generation of one-year course participants. The fact that our Croatian friends have chosen to follow a British book, and they try to follow courses set by British diplomacy, is a polite way of flattering to us, British Ambassador to Croatia Gavin Hewitt said.
